$250 (7 years+ and special needs dogs)

$450 for bonded pairs

PayPal or cash are accepted.

Generally, you must live within a 6 hour radius from the state Alabama. However in some circumstances we will consider adoptions more than 6 hours. We have placed Dobermans in homes in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Mississippi, South Carolina, Ohio and as far as Washington D.C.! We take every application into consideration.

Our dogs are fully vetted at time of adoption, including complete exam by a vet, all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, on monthly heartworm prevention, de-wormed for intestinal worms, and if heartworm positive, we treat the heartworm disease. If there are any other signs of health issues, those are also addressed/treated prior to adoption. The adopter does get a copy of all the vet records at time of adoption. Puppies to young for spay/neuter will be a foster-to-adopt until they are of age. WE DO NOT ALLOW OUR RESCUES TO BE BRED

You must be able to provide proper care for your Doberman for the remainder of his/her life. Owning a dog requires your time and financial commitments. Take into consideration vet care, food, training, pet care and emergencies. Renters who apply to adopt must allow us access to your landlord re: breed/weight limitations and pet deposits.

Use of shock collars are strictly forbidden. If it is discovered that a shock collar is being used on any dog either fostered or adopted from SHDR that dog will be removed from your home immediately and your foster/adoption contract will be null and void.

Our Dobermans must live INSIDE. A fence is required in order to foster/adopt from SHDR. There are rare instances where this can be discussed. Electric (underground) fences are NOT allowed due to safety concerns.

Returning a Dog:

If for any reason you must return the dog or the adopter fails to comply with Sweet Home Doberman Rescue terms of adoption, WE WILL TAKE THE DOG BACK. YOU MAY NOT TRANSFER OWNERSHIP.

*OUR RESCUE DOGS MUST BE KEPT AS AN INDOOR HOUSE PET.
